Projects
Save a working session and come back to it later. One .mpaint file holds the mesh, every layer, your textures, and your references, so you pick up exactly where you left off.
VIDEO ON THE WAY
Final video is on the way, thank you for your patience!
New Project, Save, Save As, and Open all go through the standard OS dialogs and read and write a single .mpaint file. A recents list gets you back into the last thing you were working on in one click.
What a project keeps
A project is the whole session, not just a flattened image, so nothing about your setup is lost between sittings.
- The imported mesh and every material slot.
- The full layer stack per submesh, with opacity and visibility.
- Your textures, so the selected one re-selects on reopen.
- Reference images and their placement.
Non-destructive, and backward compatible
Saving a project never modifies your original mesh or textures on disk. Legacy library projects still open and convert to an .mpaint on the next save, and old projects open clean.
