MechaPaint reads a pen tablet with high-frequency pressure sampling. The Pen/Tablet settings let you calibrate the response to your hand: set Full Press At so your hardest press maps to 100%, shape the response curve, and add smoothing.
Calibrated pressure drives both brush size and opacity and produces the clean tapered stroke tips. A mouse works fine too, it simply paints at full pressure.
