Focus
Three ways to point the model or the camera at the part you want to work on.
VIDEO ON THE WAY
Final video is on the way, thank you for your patience!
Focus opens a small flyout under the toolbar with three single-shot modes. Each one fires on your next click on the model, so pick the mode, click the spot, and it is done. The flyout stays up so you can pick another. Clicks while this tool is up never paint.
The three modes
- Camera - Click a face and the view swings around to look straight down at it. The fast way to get square onto a panel before painting it. It is armed by default, because it is the only one of the three that is purely a view change.
- Layers - Click a mesh to show only it and hide the rest.
- Pick Bottom - Click the polygon that should rest flat on the ground, and the model rotates so it does, drops to the floor and re-centers.
How each one behaves
- Camera stays armed after acting, so you can keep re-framing, and it reveals a Reset Camera button that restores the exact view you had before. Leaving the tool takes that button away.
- Layers and Pick Bottom are true single-shot: they disarm after one click.
- Clicking an already-armed button turns it off, leaving nothing armed.
- Clicking empty space disarms Layers and Pick Bottom. Camera stays armed.
- Camera also recenters the orbit pivot on the point you clicked, so it becomes the new center of rotation.
Notes
The cursor becomes a circle and crosshairs reticle while a mode is armed, and every click goes to the flyout for as long as it is up.
