You can ghost out any part of any mesh, and hide it until you're done. And you can still use symmetry on ghosted objects. You could paint both sides of two boots, or paint the inside of a house, even if half of it is hidden. Symmetry that keeps working through ghosted parts could be a first for the whole industry! What it really means is that you can reach the inside of a boot without fighting the outside.
